High Dusting

Cleaning of everything overhead – ceilings, ductwork exteriors, pipes, beams, lights and signage – for warehouses, plants, retail and offices across the Greater Toronto Area.

Why High Dusting Matters

Open ceilings, exposed ductwork and high racking look clean from the floor long after they are not. Dust and cobwebs overhead eventually come down – onto products, shelving, food preparation areas and customers – and they are one of the first things auditors look up at. In facilities that produce combustible dust, overhead accumulation is also a recognized fire hazard. High dusting brings all of it down in a controlled way, and usually goes together with beam cleaning and, where the dust is combustible, combustible dust cleaning.

Signs It Is Due

  • Visible dust or cobwebs on ducts, pipes or fixtures
  • Dust falling on shelving, product or work surfaces
  • An upcoming audit, inspection or customer visit
  • Light fixtures dimmed by buildup
  • A store refresh, move-in or reopening
  • No record of overhead cleaning

Common Questions

Do you clean sprinkler heads?

No. Sprinkler heads are left undisturbed, because cleaning can damage them or affect how they operate. Heads heavily loaded with dust should be assessed by your fire protection contractor.

Can this be done while we are open?

In many buildings, yes – sections are cleaned in sequence with the area below cleared. Food facilities and retail often prefer work outside operating hours, which we can plan around.

How often should high dusting be done?

It depends on the building and what happens in it. Food and manufacturing facilities often schedule it around their audit cycle; warehouses and retail commonly schedule it once or twice a year.

Is high dusting the same as duct cleaning?

No. High dusting cleans the outside of exposed ductwork and everything else overhead. Duct cleaning cleans the inside of the duct system. Many buildings need both.
